Fire at Manikganj hospital brought under control

A fire that broke out at the United Hospital in Manikganj was brought under control yesterday night.

A fire firefighting unit from Manikganj Fire Service and Civil Defence brought the fire under control after 30 minutes around 11:45pm yesterday night, reports our Manikganj correspondent quoting Shariful Islam, assistant director of Manikganj Fire Service and Civil Defence.

There were eight patients at the hospital, he said, adding that the fire officials evacuated them.

None was injured in the fire, he said.

The fire originated from an electric short circuit, he added.

The damage due to the fire could not be ascertained immediately, he informed.
