4 Iranian detainees in India released

Tehran (ISNA) – Four Iranian detainees were released from Bengaluru central prison in India on Friday and returned to Iran.

“Four Iranian detainees were released from Bengaluru central prison upon the efforts made by Iranian diplomatic mission in Hyderabad and cooperation of the Indian officials,” Iranian ambassador to India, Ali Chegeni said.

“The Iranian detainees were taken to Iran by Mahan Air flight. It was the second group of Iranian prisoners who were released and returned to Iran,” he added.

Some 15 Iranian fishermen had earlier been released.
