Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh has condemned the airstrikes by the coalition of aggressors over the past few days against residential and civilian areas in Yemen which caused destruction and left dozens of innocent people dead and wounded.
Khatibzadeh offered condolences to the bereft families of the dead and expressed sympathy with them, saying the continuation of the coalition’s attacks on Yemen amid the silence and indifference of the international community, uncontrolled arms sales to the aggressors, and the adoption of a biased approach and double standards at international bodies in the face of the 7-year oppressive aggression against the Yemeni people have made it more difficult than ever before to establish fair peace in the country.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman went on to stress the countries that supply arms to aggressors against Yemen and cause the deaths of Yemeni women and children by giving the attackers destructive bombs and weapons are accomplices in the crimes and for such support, must be held accountable before the public opinion of the world and Yemeni people.
Khatibzadeh said in the end that the continued siege and bombing of Yemen shows the lack of serious will to push for the political settlement of the Yemen crisis and is indicative of insistence on the destructive military approach which will have no outcome but the devastation of the great country of Yemen and the destabilization of the wider region.
