Iranian, Russian Navy commanders confer on expanding naval cooperation

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Navy commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi met with his Russian counterpart Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, conferring on ways to develop and expand naval cooperation.

They also discussed the need for joint measures to comprehensively strengthen defense and security relations, holding joint naval drills, increasing the presence of the two countries’ navies in strategic areas of the world, exchanging naval experiences in fields of combat equipment and instruments and transportation, training forces, and increasing the convergence of the two countries in the face of common threats.

During the meeting, Admiral Hossein Khanzadi was accompanied by Iranian ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali, strategic deputies of Navy as well as Iran’s military attaché.
