Covid-19: Negri MB gets vaccine jab

SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital here on Tuesday afternoon (March 2).

He was joined by state health exco S. Veerapan who also got the first of his two injections today.

They join some 21,000 frontliners in the state who will be vaccinated under phase one of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

In a statement, Aminuddin said the state-level phase one of the immunisation programme started on March 1 with 586 frontliners vaccinated.

“Till today, the state has received 19,890 doses to be used for 9,945 frontliners. Each will receive two doses,” he said.

Sharing his experience at the hospital today, Aminuddin said all those taking the vaccines were required to go through several processes before they got their jabs.

“At the first station, we are screened for symptoms and have our temperature taken.

“At the second, we have to register our attendance and at the next, we go through a consultation process where we have to give our consent to be vaccinated.

“We are given our shot at the fourth station and finally moved to the next where we are sent for observation,” he said.

He said all 37 government health clinics in the state will be turned into vaccination centres under phase one of the programme.
