Ismail Sabri: EMCO at Central Medicare factory, hostel, construction site in Hilir Perak until March 7

PETALING JAYA: The Central Medicare construction site, factory and dormitory in Hilir Perak will be placed under enhanced movement control order.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, in his daily Covid-19 statement on Sunday (Feb 21), said that as of Feb 19, 185 people had tested positive for Covid-19 there.

“After a risk analysis was conducted, the government has agreed to the EMCO, which will begin on Feb 22 until March 7.

“This will make it easier for the Health Ministry to conduct mass testing to nearly 2,808 workers, while also controlling the spread of infection within the community,” he said.

The EMCO at the Taiping Prison and staff quarters will end on Monday (Feb 22) as scheduled, he added.

“The Health Ministry confirmed that no more samples were pending results. From the 482 tests conducted, 142 positive cases were recorded,” he said.

On enforcement statistics, 484 people were issued compounds for disobeying Covid-19 SOPs, while nine were remanded.

Most were for crossing states and districts without prior permission.

“Ops Benteng also led to the capture of 20 illegal immigrants with 17 vehicles seized,” Ismail Sabri said.
