Malaysian cleared of drug charges freed more than 4 months after escaping death sentence

SINGAPORE – A Malaysian man, who escaped the gallows more than four months ago after the Court of Appeal cleared him of a capital drug charge, finally walked out a free man on Tuesday (March 2).

Mr Beh Chew Boo, 38, was released after the same panel of judges, in a 2-1 decision, dismissed a bid by prosecutors to proceed with the trial of four other non-capital charges against him.
