Covid-19: 18,815 new cases, Sarawak highest with 3,660 infections

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 18,815 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Sept 16), bringing the cumulative total to 2,049,750, says the Health Ministry.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a tweet said Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases at 3,660 followed by Selangor (2,718) and Johor (2,206).

He said there were 16,939 recoveries, bringing the total number to 1,800,278.

There were 1,222 patients being treated in intensive care units (ICUs).

A total of 913 were confirmed to be Covid-19 cases while 309 were suspected of being positive.

A total of 710 patients are on ventilator support.
