Covid-19: New cases drop below 5,000 mark, with 4,949 reported

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 4,949 new Covid-19 cases on Monday (June 14), bringing the total number of infections in the country since the pandemic began to 662,457 cases.

In the same 24-hour period, there were 60 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 3,968.

There were also 6,588 recoveries, which means 586,864 have recovered from the disease nationwide.

There are still 921 patients in intensive care units, with 459 requiring ventilation support.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said Selangor still had the most cases with 1, 523 people testing positivve, followed by Sarawak (744), Kuala Lumpur (503) and Johor (430).
